Airport Transfers and Tours

For help with airport transport, tours, ideas of where to go or eat, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Deposit and Cancellation

A 50% deposit is require at the time of booking. The balance is due by the end of stay. This deposit is 100% refundable, 30 days before travel. Thereafter different percentages of deposit paid are refunded depending on the time frame. Please enquire about the cancellation policy.

Child Policy

Children are welcome but only Sunbird Suite and African Hoopoe provide additonal beds.

0 – 12 years is R400

13 – 18 years is R750

Arrival and Departure

Check in is form 2pm and check out is strictly 10am. Housekeeping will need access to the room by 10am although guests are welcome to stay longer at the lodge.

Breakfast

Served between 7am and 9.30am. If you would like it earlier, or would like a packed breakfast, please make arrangements with Sue or Deon the night before.

Noise

Please consider other guests when coming and going or swimming and try not to make too much noise.

Windows and Doors

At no time leave windows and outside doors open. All sorts of creatures big and small will make their way indoors.

Honesty Bars

There is an honesty bar in each room as well as in the main house, which you are welcome to make use of.

TV

There are no TV’s in the room which is intentional as we believe in taking a break from the world of TV. However if there is something specific on TV that you would like to watch, please feel free to ask. There is full DSTV available in the lounge.

Airconditioners and lights

If you leave your room, please make sure the airconditioner and most lights are turned off.

Swimming

You are welcome to swim any time and swimming towels are provided.

Veranda

You are welcome to sit on the veranda. The minibar near the kitchen is also an honesty bar so please keep a note of what you consume.

Animals

Please do not attempt to feed or chase the animals. The warthogs in particular appear very tame, however never forget that they are wild animals and might hurt you if you get in their way.

Walking

Walking in the estate is very safe and highly recommended, but not at night time. In the front garden and through the gate, you will find a path. If you follow it you are immediately in the green belt and you will reach the cycle track.

Restaurants 

The following restaurants are highly recommended: The Hat and Creek, Sleepers, Fig and Bean, The Maroela Bar, Kalimambo and Khaya Ndlovu. Further afield are Three Bridges (breakfast & lunch only), The Thirsty Giraffe, Cooked (breakfast & lunch only), Cotton Club Café (breakfast & lunch only).

Please Note

No smoking or eating in the bedroom is allowed. There are outside, open spaces to smoke and eat and please close bedroom doors and windows when smoking.
